These professional aluminum anvil pruners are ideal for hard, woody and general pruning, helping to reduce wrist strain when cutting older, thicker stems. The blade closes on a softer metal in the lower jaw that avoids unnecessary pressure on the hand.
This does not produce as clean a cut as bypass pruners, but this is not as important for older growth. They have ergonomically designed handles that have smooth plastic inserts and a thumb rest for safety. They feature a built-in spring mechanism, an easy-to-use locking mechanism and a non-stick blade designed to prevent over-extension of the hand. These pruners can cut stems up to 25mm thick and the anvil block is fully replaceable.
